Feeling less lonely

Psychotherapy for Isolation and Loneliness

During difficult times, many of us isolate from loved ones, friends, activities and employment. Isolation is tolerable in short doses, but can cause severe loneliness and depression if prolonged. Loneliness Therapy significantly reduces feelings of loneliness and depression by creating greater “Behavioral Activation” in your life. Behavioral Activation can be defined as the art of getting you reconnected with valued activities in your life, or simply getting “Activated”. A Behavioral Activation plan will be developed specific to your needs and is used to start Reactivating meaning back into your life. During Loneliness Therapy, you and your psychologist will identifying the many desired life experiences you have lost due to isolation, anxiety, depression, addiction or social distancing. Together, you will begin finding creative ways to reincorporate important moments back into your life and find joy once again. Your psychologist will teach you the skills to manage any racing thoughts, anxiety or painful emotion which threaten to derail your Behavioral Activation. We welcome you to take this opportunity to begin living your life once again.
