There is a lot of confusion and misinformation regarding the Coronavirus, or COVID-19. Particular concern exists around the virus’ half-life and the rate at which it lives on surfaces. According to a recently study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, COVID-19 lives for 72 hours (3 days) on plastics, which is longer than cardboard and metals. Coronavirus lives on cardboard and stainless steel for only 24 hours while living no more than 4 hours on copper metals. The Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is on the forefront of everyone’s mind. News stations are reporting it, journalists are printing it, friends and colleagues are discussing it and phones are notifying about it. In other words, the Coronavirus has gone “viral”. Just last month, COVID-19 was mainly contained to China, but it has spread fast. Europe saw breakouts in only a few weeks, and it has finally landed in the United States.
